Run For Peace Marathon 2013

I like to stay fit and healthy! That’s why, the last two month I joined the big crowd of 5500 people for a marathon along the Han Jiang College at Penang.

we L.O.V.E running

The Run For Peace started at 6AM and the volunteers try to give out drinks and cheering for the runners at Water Station 10! They gave out 1000 bottles of 500ml mineral water, 1000 bottles of 1500ml 100 Plus and 3000 empty cups to serve over 5500 of the runners.

The marathon ended at about 12PM and I proud of myself because we get the certificate of Run For Peace 2013 although we not get the first runner for this activity but at least we finish run to the end of destination.

YEAH !!!!!! Get the certificate ^^
After finished the marathon, I take a photo with my friend ^^

Assam Laksa at Penang ^^

Penang Assam Laksa, being voted as the Top 10 Yummiest food in Asia by CNN, is the quintessential Penang favorite food.

My favorite Assam Laksa can be found here, at Nan Guang Coffee House, Balik Pulau (Penang).  I am quite sure most local food experts or patrons are familiar with this coffee house, this place is famous of its Assam Laksa, as well as Lemak Laksa.

Heavily influenced by Thai Laksa, Lemak Laksa (Rm 3.50) is not too common in the island. The broth itself carries a hint of sweetness as well as the creamy and distinctive flavors inherited from Coconut Milk. The soul to Laksa lies at the Shrimp Paste/ Hae Kor, a drizzle of that dark, thick and sweet Shrimp Paste does make a huge difference, it gives a very unique seafood sweetness to the Laksa. One strong reason why I adore their Laksa so much was their noodles. Unlike any other Laksa stalls, their very own version of Laksa noodles are springier and bouncier, or al-dente.

This mouth-watering Assam Laksa (Rm 3.50) was delectable and robust in flavors. It has a medley of sweet, sour and spicy notes. One sip of the broth widens my eyes, pulsating with flavors, the sourish broth was appetizingly delightful. Extra condiments such as Peppermint Leaves, Cucumbers, Pineapples give an extra crunchy yet intricate texture to the dish. An aesthetically pleasing bowl of comfort food that I can ask for, well, exclusively in Penang.

The Mooncake Festival

As we know, the Mooncake Festival also known as the Mid-Autumn Festival or Zhong Qiu Jie, is a yearly Chinese festival celebrated on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month, when the moon is said to be at its biggest, brightest and closest to the earth. Held in close conjunction with the Lantern Festival, the Mooncake Festival has come to be associated with bright and coluorful lanterns.

In Chinese cities or Chinatown throughout the world, thousands of candlelit lanterns line sidewalks and waterfronts during the double festival. Anxious children on moonlit strolls watch as their minders help them to light their lanterns suspended on the end of a stick. Other excited children run around, faces aglow, gently waving plastic lanterns in the shapes of goldfish, rabbits, butterflies, stars, airplanes and ships.

The lantern full of colour

Plastic lanterns in the shapes of goldfish
In every Chinese home, a rich brown round “cake”- more like a pie of sorts - is cut and served. Round shapes symbolize return - a full circle - in Chinese philosophy.

The roots of the Mooncake Festival may lie in the harvest festivals of old, which were celebrated with thanksgiving, especially after a plentiful harvest. Such harvest festivals were celebrated not only by the Chinese, but by many cultures, including those in the West. In the ways of the Chinese, a simple symbol encapsulates a universe of deep meanings: tales of romance, immortality, regeneration and hope; a history lesson complete with reminders to diligently guard the independence and integrity of the Chinese people.

                                                       < My Opinion >

The Mid-Autumn Festival is a Chinese festival that is filled with lots of love and happiness. On this special day, family and friends will gather together for some fun and exciting moments that involve moon cakes, good food, lanterns and of course, the beautiful full moon. To pass down this wonderful tradition, I had embraced the strong sense of togetherness, which was topped with enjoyable and sweet memories on the night of 13 September.

Enjoy my Mooncake Festival with my girlssss ^^

Happy Mooncake Festival to everyone =)

I enjoy my university life and I also can spend comfortable in university now. I thought the reason why I am being able to enjoy my university life. First, I made many friends since I entered university. I have a lot of friends are same hostel with me. I meet them of same course in 7 September, 2010. Besides that, I can talk everything to the friends. I feel appreciated to them because if I have in a trouble about assignment, they help me anytime. And thanks to them again, I very enjoyable to attending the classes. Sometimes, I play with them in private time. For example, we like to play badminton at every evening after finished class.

Second, there are many specialty additional classes that I have never study in university. For example, I learned about outline of British literature, French language, German language and so on. Through these classes, I can touch the field that I had never known then. It is very fun. Furthermore, I am being able to study English deeply. As I like English before, it is glad for me to be able to study English deeply. I am looking forward to it when I think that I will be able to study many things that I don't know yet.

Lastly, Facilities of this UUM are very beautiful and clean. I am glad to study in beautiful university. My best favourite facility is library. The library is very comfortable. When I want to study and do assignment, I will always go to library. So the library is one of reason that my university life can be enjoyable. My second favourite facility is student residential hall. When I finished class, I will back to my residential hall take a rest. I thought it is very convenient place.
